** UPDATE ** WFAA News has a pretty good story about the four men and what the community is doing during this difficult time.
Four members of our DFW community passed away this weekend when the Ford Mustang they were riding in collided with a Ford-350.
17-year-old Danny R. Nalley was driving four friends early Saturday morning southbound along FM-730 just north of Decatur. Around 3 am, the vehicle moved into the northbound lanes of a no passing zone near County Road 2445. The driver of the F-350, Richard Rand, spotted oncoming headlights and veered into the grass to avoid a collision. Danny, seeking the same end, turned into the same patch of grass – and plowed into the F-350.
All four of the Mustang’s passengers died in the wreck. They include 19-year-olds Kevin C. Brickey and Vincent G. Williams. The names of the other two victims haven’t been officially released yet – although a commenter on another article says she is the sister of one of the deceased, a young man by the name of Vincent LaGrassa. Danny Nalley was airlifted to a Fort Worth hospital with serious injuries. Richard, the driver of the pickup truck, was treated and released from the Wise Regional
Accidents happen. Both drivers in this situation appear to have done the best they could to avoid the wrong-way collision. It’s tragic that it ended the way it did.
Investigators are still determining what caused the Mustang to move lanes.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the deceased and injured. Drive safely, Dallas.
