TYLER, TX (07/27/2015) — One person has died and three others were injured in a head-on car accident on Monday morning.
According to DPS Trooper Jean Dark, a two-vehicle crash on Monday morning along Loop 49 near Tyler, Texas left 72-year-old Sue Davis dead, and injured 21-year-old Vince Pesina, 44-year-old Timothy Fields, and Juan Rodriguez.
A preliminary crash report indicated that shortly after 8:30 a.m., 72-year-old Sue Davis was traveling northbound in a 2015 Toyota Camry when she entered the southbound lane, which was occupied by a 2013 Ford F-150 driven by Vince Pesina.
Pesina made a evasive maneuver and drove into the northbound lane. Davis then traveled back into the northbound lane and struck the Ford.
Davis was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to reports, Pesina was transported to Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in stable condition. Fields, a passenger of Pesina, was also taken to Trinity Mother Frances Hospital, and has since been treated and released.
Rodriguez, the third occupant of the Ford, was taken to East Texas Medical Center in critical condition.
