GRAND PRAIRIE, TX (05/18/2015) — 32-year-old Jose Luis Martinez has died and 35-year-old Ramon Zuniga has been injured following a wrong-way accident in Grand Prairie, Texas on Saturday.
According to Grand Prairie police, Jose Luis Martinez, 32, died Monday after sustaining injuries in a wrong-way accident around 9:40 p.m. on Saturday in the 500 block of W. Oakdale Road in Grand Prairie, Texas.
Authorities state that Martinez was intoxicated and traveling eastbound in a westbound lane of Oakdale Road—a two-lane street—when his 2001 Ford F-150 pickup crashed into a 1998 Mazda pickup driven by 35-year-old Ramon Zuniga.
Martinez was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas; he died early Monday. Zuniga suffered a broken leg and was also transported to Parkland for treatment. Martinez’ 49-year-old passenger was not injured in the wreck.
This accident remains under investigation.
