It’s commonly held knowledge that trains have the right of way.
If anyone needs evidence, consider the near-disaster yesterday when a DART SLRV (super light rail vehicle) clipped a truck that decided to cut it off. The accident, which occurred around lunch yesterday at Pacific and Griffin, left four DART passengers with minor injuries – and a bobtail truck on the run. Authorities are still looking for the vehicle – and for answers as to why the driver thought he or she could/should beat the SLRV across the tracks.
This blog has covered some tragic hit and runs before – but this is the first time Dallas auto accident lawyer Jeff Rasansky has covered one involving a train… and where the train was the victim.
This post was definitely a little tongue in cheek, but the reality is more serious – watch where you’re going. This is especially true in downtown Dallas, where there are no rail guards to remind you about in oncoming train. Stay alert!
Drive safely, Dallas.
