DENTON, TX (10/16/2016) — One man has been arrested for intoxication manslaughter following a motorcycle accident which claimed the life of Zoe Niven early Sunday morning.
According to authorities, 21-year-old Zoe Niven (of Flower Mound) was killed shortly after a motorcycle accident that occurred in the 12000 block of the northbound lanes of Interstate 35W in Denton, Texas.
Police stated that at around 12:30 a.m., 27-year-old Justin A. Ramos was traveling northbound on a motorcycle at a high-rate of speed when he hit a portable road sign and crashed.
Niven, Ramos’ passenger, survived the wreckage, but was struck by a passing vehicle shortly after the initial wreck. She lost her life at the scene.
Officials stated that Ramos was taken to the hospital, but his current condition is unknown.
Ramos was in custody on Sunday. He has been charged with intoxication manslaughter for the death of his passenger.
This accident remains under investigation.
