** ORIGINAL POST **
Three young adults passed away early this morning when their car crashed into a tree.
Five youth, whose names have not yet been released, were driving along Green Oaks Blvd around 3 a.m. when their sedan plowed into a tree, splitting it in half. The driver and the front passenger (believed to be his brother) died at the scene. The three backseat passengers were rushed to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth where one of them, a young lady, died from her injuries. The remaining two victims are listed in serious condition.
Investigators found a bottle of alcohol on the scene and are not ruling out speed and alcohol as factors in this accident. Drunk driving accidents are some of the most senseless and tragic in our city. Organizations like MADD and SADD are doing their part to put an end to underage drinking and impaired driving. During MADD’s 2011 Dallas “Walk Like MADD” event, drunk driving accident attorney Jeff Rasansky pointed out the benefits of organizations like MADD, in the hope that more people would line up to support an organization that is committed to preventing tragedies and helping the families of victims.
More information about MADD’s victim services can be found at www.MADD.org/victim-services.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of those that passed and to the two survivors fighting to recover.
