GRAND PRAIRIE, TX (01/29/2017) — A wrong way crash on Sunday morning claimed the life of Hector Banuelos.
Police identified 36-year-old Hector C. Banuelos (of Fort Worth) as the victim of a wrong way accident that occurred at the intersection of Interstate 30 and Duncan Perry Road in Grand Prairie, Texas.
Officials reported that at around 5:00 a.m., a 25-year-old female driver of a 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of the highway when she collided with a 2007 Mitsubishi Galant, driven by Banuelos.
Banuelos died from his injuries at the scene.
The driver of the Tahoe was flown to Parkland Memorial Hospital where she remains in critical condition.
“Officers are awaiting toxicology results before any charges will be filed,” Officer Lyle Gensler said in a Monday email.
Police are continuing to investigate this accident.
