PORT ARTHUR, TX (07/15/2015) — 53-year-old Percy Villemez was injured after his farm tractor was rear-ended by a pickup truck Wednesday.
According to reports, Percy Villemez, 53, was injured on Wednesday evening after a vehicle collided with his tractor on Highway 73 near the Veolia plant in Jefferson County, Texas.
Villemez was traveling eastbound at around 7:30 p.m. in a commercial farm tractor in the outside lane of Highway 73 when 35-year-old Patrick Pittman allegedly failed to control the speed of his 2005 Chevrolet pickup truck and rear-ended Villemez’s tractor.
The impact caused the pickup truck’s cab to be separated from the bed, and came to a stop in the grassy center median. The tractor went off the roadway onto the shoulder.
Villemez was transported via ambulance to St. Mary Hospital with unknown injuries. Pittman was flown to St. Elizabeth hospital with serious injuries.
